What is Arbitration?

Your Source for Lemon Law Information for All 50 States

If you are driving a defective vehicle, you may be considering filing a Lemon Law claim. You should be aware that many states Lemon Laws set forth that Manufacturer Arbitration is a necessary component prior to your filing of a legal action. (This is not mandatory in all states, you should consult your state's Lemon Law or consult with an experienced Lemon Law Attorney to determine if Arbitration is mandatory in your state).  If Arbitration is mandatory in your state, you will have to contact the agency that handles such claims.  The Better Business Bureau (BBB) runs the manufacturers' Arbitration programs in many states.  Other Arbitration agencies include the American Arbitration Association and the National Center for Dispute Resolution.  The information as to which agency you should contact will be located in the Manufacturer's Warranty booklet that was included with your vehicle.
