1.  Has your vehicle suffered a defect which substantially impairs the Use, Value or Safety of the vehicle?

     Note:  This type of defect is substantial in nature, i.e. a problem with the transmission, engine, brakes, suspension, water leaks, etc...

2.  Have you given the Dealer/Manufacturer a reasonable number of attempts to repair the problem?  (Usually 3 or 4 attempts for the same problem, or 1 or more attempts that result in your vehicle being out of service for 18 to 30 days, cumulative).

3.  Has the Dealer/Manufacturer been unable to resolve the problem?

If you can answer Yes to the foregoing questions, You may have a Lemon!  You should consult an experienced Lemon Law Attorney in your state.  (Find one here).  He/She should represent you for FREE and seek to get rid of your Lemon in exchange for a Full Refund or a Free Replacement vehicle.

  1. Always research a vehicle before buying it.
  2. If your vehicle is defective, notify the dealer promptly.
  3. Make sure your Complaints are written down in your words by the dealer.
  4. Be sure to get a copy of the written Repair Order/Invoice for each dealer service attempt.
