Not all states lemon laws cover motorcycles, but that does not mean that you cannot bring a claim if you purchase a defective motorcycle. There is a federal lemon law that lemon attorneys use in cases where the state lemon law does not afford protection and it is called the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act. This federal lemon law provides that you are entitled to a refund of the purchase price, a free replacement product or cash compensation if the manufacturer of your motorcycle cannot fix any substantial defects after being given a reasonable opportunity to do so. The Federal Lemon Law also provides that the manufacturer of your lemon motorcycle must pay for your reasonable attorney fees in the event that they cannot comply with the lemon statute.
